SURREY, B.C. - A driver suspected of being involved in a hit-and-run collision that left a five-year-old boy in intensive care has surrendered to police.

The RCMP have issued a news release that says the driver, who hasn't been named, turned himself or herself into police in Surrey on Saturday as investigators were attending several addressing looking for the suspect

The boy was hit by a vehicle on Friday afternoon, leaving him with serious head injuries that are being treated in an intensive-care unit.
