Gatineau police are investigating a fire that destroyed a food truck, which raised money to feed the homeless, after they say the blaze was arson.

One of two trucks belonging to Auto bouffe de la Soupière de l'Amité was burned to the ground just before 2 a.m. Sunday.

The group used the truck to raise money that in turn helped feed the homeless in Gatineau. The truck represented about 10 to 15 per cent of their fundraising.

The fire was extinguished within 30 minutes but not before destroying the entire kitchen that made and sold burgers and fries.

The truck was located in the parking lot of the Rona hardware store on Cité de Gatineau Boulevard.

Police continue to investigate.
