Justice tastes like warm pavement for one alleged shoplifter.
A quick-thinking passerby captured video of an off-duty North Vancouver Mountie grappling with a suspect in an alley off Vancouver's Davie Street near St. Paul Hospital.
"Let go of me man," the suspect is heard pleading with the Mountie.
The video uploaded by YouTube user butchnews on Friday has picked up 154 comments as of Sunday evening. The two men – Mountie and alleged thief – were in the same store earlier when the suspect allegedly stole items and took off on foot with the off-duty officer in close pursuit.
"I'm ruined. You're ruining my life," yells the suspect in a chokehold on the ground.
After five minutes of struggling and close combat take downs, three Vancouver police officers arrived on scene and arrested the suspect.
