RED DEER, Alta. - The case of an Alberta woman accused of assaulting her infant more than three years ago has been delayed once again.

Shannon Deschamps, who is 36, of Hobbema, was supposed to begin a five-day trial Monday on a charge of aggravated assault in Red Deer court.

But she didn't show up.

A warrant has been issued for her arrest.

Her lawyer also asked to be taken off the record.

In November 2009, police laid charges after a newborn baby was brought to Red Deer Regional Hospital with what officials deemed suspicious but non-life threatening injuries.
