CALGARY - Calgary police have charged a 15-year-old boy with sending sexual and threatening text messages to a former girlfriend.

Police say the girl told an adult at her school last month that she was being harassed and receiving phone calls.

They all came from an unknown cell number.

Investigators say they tracked the phone to an account belonging to one of the boy's parents.

The youth, who cannot be identified, faces charges of criminal harassment and making child pornography.

Police say they have investigated more than a dozen so-called "sexting" incidents so far this year and many more go unreported.
