Vancouver's Matthew Stowe was named the winner of Top Chef Canada in Monday's season finale, becoming the third chef with ties to B.C. to take the title.
Stowe, a Cloverdale native who works as the product development chef at Cactus Club, won $100,000 on the popular Food Network show.
The 30-year-old father says he will continue to work at the Cactus Club, but dreams of opening his own restaurant one day.
Last year, Sooke native Carl Heinrich won the competition. And in 2011, former Vancouver fry cook Dale MacKay took top honours.

Stowe competed against Toronto's Jonathan Goodyear and Montreal's Danny Smiles in the finale, held in Calgary.
He graduated from New York's Culinary Institute of America and previously worked as the executive chef at Sonora Resort in Richmond.
