Julia Gillard Kentucky Fried Quail: Australian PM Angry Over Fundraiser's Sexist Menu Item

Australia's PM Insulted By Sexist Menu Item

Australia's Prime Minister Julia Gillard is incensed over a sexist menu item that was featured during an opposition fundraiser.

The item which read “Julia Gillard Kentucky Fried Quail – Small Breasts, Huge Thighs & A Big Red Box.” was featured on a menu during a small fundraiser hosted in March in Brisbane for former minister Mal Brough, who is seeking a return to Australia's parliament.

Gillard called the menu “grossly offensive and sexist," The Guardian reported, and also called for Brough to be disendorsed by Australia's centre-right Liberal party but Opposition Leader Tony Abbott said that he'd be standing by the candidate, the Australian Broadcast Corporation (ABC) reported.

"Mr. Brough is retaining his endorsement, presumably if Mr Abbott becomes prime minister, Mr. Brough will be a senior minister in the Abbott government," Gillard said

"Mr. Brough should be disendorsed. That's what should happen here," she added.

The Brisbane restaurant owner said that the menu was a joke and never distributed to the public, ABC reported.

This is not the first time Gillard has had to deal with sexism. The Australian PM gained worldwide notoriety for a withering speech against Abbott and misogyny in Australian politics. Looks like she might have to give that speech again.
