VANCOUVER - Vancouver police say a man who was dragged by a getaway car during a jewelry robbery is nursing minor injuries.

Police say the North Vancouver man purchased an undisclosed amount of jewelry from a Vancouver store Monday afternoon.

After the man left the shop, a thief grabbed the bag of jewels and ran to a waiting car.

But police say the victim gave chase, grabbed the robber and wouldn't let go, even as the car sped off.

The man was dragged for about a block before he let go.

Paramedics found the man with some minor wounds on the side of the road, and police were called and began looking for suspects.
