Police probe death of woman, 27, in Kelowna home

The Kelowna RCMP is investigating the suspicious death of a 27-year-old woman at a home in the Glenmore area.

Officers found the deceased woman inside the home when they responded to a call to assist paramedics just after midnight on Monday.

Neighbours say a young couple and their children lived in the house.

"It's beyond shocking, because these are the kinds of things that you read about that happen in other towns, like Vancouver, maybe, but not here," said Darlene Igel, who lives next door to the home.

On Tuesday afternoon, investigators with the RCMP Major Crimes Unit in Kelowna were going door to door, looking through garbage and recycling bins for evidence.

Investigators have not released the name of the deceased woman, and would not say if anyone has been taken into custody.

Police are asking anyone with information to call the Kelowna detachment.
