Shooting inside Danforth barbershop wounds man

Police are investigating after a 25-year-old man was shot and wounded at a barber shop Friday afternoon in the city's east end.

The shooting occurred at Pizzazz Unlimited, a barbershop in the Danforth and Greenwood area, just before 3 p.m. Employees and patrons were still inside the business when a suspect entered and fired a single shot at the victim, according to police.

Toronto Police Const. Tony Vella said the suspect then fled, apparently towards the Greenwood subway station.

Police have not released an official description yet.

The victim was rushed to St. Michael's Hospital for treatment. Investigators are continuing to canvas the area and have cordoned off a section of the neighbourhood as they continue interviewing witnesses.
