Jack Froese, 33, pleaded guilty to sexual assault and kidnapping last year after abducting a woman from an adult boutique in 2011. Froese shot cocaine into her arm and sexually assaulted her for several hours.
The indeterminate sentence, handed down in a Kamloops courtroom on Friday, is essentially a life sentence, meaning Froese would have to convince a parole board he is no longer a threat to the public if he wants to be released.
The judge called Froese a sexual deviant with a psychopathic and narcissistic personality, saying he is a high risk to reoffend.
Several people in the courtroom applauded judge’s decision. One man yelled,"I hope you rot in there!" at Froese as the sentence was delivered.
Froese has several past convictions for sexual offenses and was once arrested on the University of Saskatchewan campus with nylon rope, condoms and a list of female athletes.
