Vancouver police say it was a problem-free Canada Day as thousands of people packed into the city’s downtown core to celebrate.

Early estimates indicate between 75,000 and 100,000 poured into downtown Vancouver to enjoy the festivities, including a fireworks display Monday evening.

Const. Sandra Glendinning says there were no major incidents.

"It's historically a problem-free event,” she said.

“We have had no events tonight. We have had a few liquor pour-outs and a few people separated from their parents and quickly relocated."
