Chris Hadfield Rocks Canada Day, Does 'Space Oddity' (VIDEOS)

WATCH: Hadfield Rocks Out On Canada Day

Is there anything more Canadian than Chris Hadfield and Ed Robertson serenading Ottawa on Canada Day?

The beloved Canadian astronaut, who spent five months on the International Space Station, and the Barenaked Ladies singer wowed the Parliament Hill crowd with their original song ‘Is Somebody Singing’ (I.S.S.), a tune the two recorded while Hadfield was still orbiting Earth.

It was like singing along by a campfire with a bunch of friends,” Hadfield told the Globe and Mail post-performance.

Hadfield also sang ‘Space Oddity’ with Stratford, Ont. folk band Trent Severn.

Hadfield’s earlier rendition of the David Bowie classic from the International Space Station earned him huge props – a message on Bowie’s own Facebook page called the song “possibly the most poignant version of the song ever created.”

Check out the performances below and see some of Hadfield’s most incredible photos from space.
