Executive approves Pan Am Trail

The city's executive committee has unanimously approved a plan to connect dozens of urban pathways and create a continuous trail from Brampton to Pickering.

The proposal is to spend about $2 million to connect cycle and walking paths throughout the city - eventually making an unbroken trail across the city,

The 80-kilometre trail would be known as the Pan Am Trail. It's supporters saying it will be a legacy from the 2015 Pan Am/Para Pan Am Games.

"If it is passed by Council on July 16th, the project will accelerate the creation of a continuous trail across Toronto for walking, running and biking," the city said in a news release.
