TORONTO - If you're a culinary whiz with a love for filmmaking, you can combine both talents with a new project at Harbourfont Centre in Toronto.

Recipe Roots, an initiative created by the centre in partnership with the non-profit community food organization FoodShare Toronto, is intended to celebrate the history and diversity of recipes that make up Canada's culinary landscape, the centre said in a release.

People are invited to submit videos of favourite recipes that have been handed down through generations along with the story behind them to Harbourfront Centre's Recipe Roots Facebook page.

Entries are due Aug. 6.

Judges will choose a handful of entries for an invitation to demonstrate their recipe at the 16th annual Hot & Spicy Food Festival Sept. 2-5 at Harbourfront Centre at Toronto's central waterfront.

For more information, visit harbourfrontcentre.com or call 416-973-4000.
