Standoff with possibly armed Vancouver man ends peacefully

An hours-long standoff with a Vancouver man who may have been armed ended without incident early Thursday morning.

Vancouver police were called to a home on East 43rd Avenue near Main Street at about 10 p.m. PT Wednesday to reports of a distraught man with a rifle.

After several hours of negotiations, the SWAT team finally broke into the house at about 1 a.m. and took the suspect away in an ambulance.
