How would you extract the flavours of pricey housing and never-ending rain and infuse them into an ice cream?

Why? Because according to one of Huffington Post B.C.'s witty readers, that’s exactly what a Vancouver-inspired ice cream would taste like.

Last month, Ben & Jerry’s announced they were creating new flavours based on five major U.S. cities through an online vote. So we asked HuffPost B.C. readers to help us figure out what ingredients the perfect Vancouver ice cream would include. We were flooded with suggestions - some gourmet, others a little more funky.

“Maple and fresh vanilla with caramel,” suggested one reader. “Sushi,” proposed another.

Some were enthused by the natural flavour profiles to be derived from British Columbia’s native fish and plants such as cedar smoked salmon, dogwood, and salmonberries.

The province’s politics also got a look in:“The hull of an oil tanker,” wrote Fly Sketcher on Facebook.

We can't imagine why, but marijuana proved a popular choice, both on its own and in combination with other savoury/drink pairings such as Chinese food and coffee.

What do you think of the responses? What would your perfect Vancouver-inspired ice cream flavour taste like?
