Almost 100 firefighters battle four-alarm fire in Montreal

Firefighters were called to the scene of a fire in Montreal's Côte-des-Neiges-Notre-Dame-de-Grâce borough shortly after 9 p.m. on Wednesday.

All residents living in the building's 17 units were able to make it out safely, according to Michel Girard, with the Montreal fire department.

He said the buildings immediately north and south of the fire were also evacuated.

Residents of those two adjacent buildings were expected to return to their homes later Wednesday night.

At its peak, the four-alarm fire drew 98 firefighters in 36 trucks.

Firefighters said there were no injuries or deaths as of 10:30 p.m.
