Anas Cheema was biking across the country to raise money for SOS Children's Village, an international children's charity.
He started June 14 in Victoria, B.C. and arrived in Winnipeg on Wednesday night. His bike was taken when he went into a McDonald's on Leila Avenue at about 10:30 p.m.
Cheema, who said he was tired and didn't think to lock up the bike, also lost everything from his clothes to his bank cards, which were in bags attached to the bike. He's not sure what he'll do.
"I don't want to give up now, like I don't want to stop," he said. "I want to carry on and continue with it. My goal is to reach St.John's before September."
Cheema, who moved to Canada from Pakistan two years ago has no family in this country.
So far he has raised $1,400 for the charity.
The bike is described as having a dark blue frame with silver accents and the word "Napoli” written on the frame. There are also two rear saddle bags (black and grey) and another mounted on the front.
Anyone with information regarding the location of the bike is requested to contact Winnipeg police 204-986-2848.
