Kellie Leitch has been named minister of labour and minister of status of women.

Education: She has a doctorate of medicine from the University of Toronto, an MBA from Dalhousie University and finished the orthopedic surgery residency program at Children's Hospital of Los Angeles and the University of Southern California.

Past work: She is a pediatric orthopedic surgeon and an associate professor of surgery.

Political experience: Elected as the Conservative MP for the Ontario riding of Simcoe-Grey on May 2, 2011. Appointed parliamentary secretary to the minister of human resources and skills development and to the minister of labour on May 25, 2011.
