LETHBRIDGE, Alta. - A southern Alberta man is facing charges after his three-year-old child was found in a stroller on a road.

Police in Lethbridge say a passerby called them Saturday morning around 11 a.m. after coming upon the stroller and a man passed out on the sidewalk.

The passerby moved the stroller off the road and took care of the girl until police arrived.

Police say the 39-year-old man showed signs of intoxication when he was arrested.

The man is charged with failing to provide the necessities of life.

He has a court date in August on the charges.
