Toronto Triple Homicide: West End Standoff Ends In Arrest

Posted: Updated:

TORONTO - Toronto police have reportedly charged a man in his 20s with three counts of second-degree murder following a triple homicide in the city’s west end.

Police say emergency officials responded to a call Monday night at a townhouse complex (65 Old Burnhamthorpe Road) and found three bodies.

It’s unclear how long they had been there.

Reports say the suspect is related to the victims, who are believed to be two women and a man aged 49 to 76.

No names have been released.

Insp. Tom Crone says the suspect surrendered to officers after he was found in a nearby ravine armed with a knife.

‘‘There was a brief standoff with the suspect. He was armed. We negotiated with the suspect over a short period of time and subsequently he surrendered.‘‘

Police continued to canvas for witnesses late into the night and to see if any other suspects may have been involved. (NewsTalk1010, CP24)
