The B.C. Coroners Service is investigating after a man drowned in Golden Ears Provincial Park Thursday afternoon.

Police say that a 21-year-old Port Coquitlam man couldn't be revived after being pulled from Alouette Lake at around 3:45 p.m. PT.

Ridge Meadows RCMP Cpl. Alanna Dunlop said Thursday evening that the investigation was in its early stages, but that foul play was not suspected.

The coroners service has not yet released the man's name.

Alouette Lake is approximately 60 kilometres east of Vancouver, and 30 kilometres east of Port Coquitlam.
