Abbotsford police have arrested two suspects who allegedly broke into a man's home, assaulted him and demanded cash and guns stored in a safe.

The victim, a 25-year-old Abbotsford man, is recovering from non-life-threatening injuries after jumping from his second floor apartment to escape the attack in the 3100-block of Gladwin Road on Saturday night.

"Three suspects, brandishing firearms, pushed their way in and demanded that the victim turn over cash and guns from a safe inside the suite," said Cst. Ian MacDonald.

The victim and several witnesses were able to give officers good descriptions of the attackers and their vehicles.

Two of the three suspects, a 28-year-old Coquitlam man and 31-year-old Chilliwack resident, were arrested on Sunday morning in Abbotsford and Chilliwack.

Police are recommending charges of robbery and break-and-enter against the pair.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Abbotsford Police Department at 604-859-5225 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
