Kate Middleton Having A Boy Or Girl? 5 Hints About Duchess Of Cambridge's Baby Gender

07/22/2013 02:32 EDT | Updated 07/22/2013 04:38 EDT

Even though Kate Middleton and Prince William didn’t want to know their baby’s gender before it arrived, that hasn’t stopped royal admirers from looking for clues.

Hints at the gender have been few and far between; while speculation swirled around their baby’s sex, Will and Kate mostly stayed mum on the subject right up until Kate went into labour Monday morning.

UPDATE: It's a boy for Will and Kate. The royal baby was born Monday afternoon at 4:24 p.m. and both mother and child are "doing well," Clarence House announced.

We’ll likely have to wait a bit longer to know for sure whether Duchess Kate is having a boy or a girl. If Kate doesn't give birth before 10:30 p.m. local time, the announcement will reportedly be postponed until Tuesday morning, likely after 8 a.m.

Until then, take a look at the few royal baby gender hints we’ve seen:
