EDMONTON - Two men have been charged in the abduction and beating of an Edmonton businessman.

Police say a 62-year-old man was found in the bedroom community of Sherwood Park on Tuesday about 36 hours after he was kidnapped.

They will not reveal his name, but court documents say the man is Alex Davidoff, who is a real estate developer in Edmonton.

Police say the victim met with associates on Sunday, but then missed another appointment, which was out of character and raised concerns.

They allege he was taken against his will, had his life threatened and was physically assaulted.

Raheel Khalon, who is 26, and 41-year-old David Chipere are charged with kidnapping, extortion, unlawful confinement, assault causing bodily harm and uttering death threats.

They are next to appear in court on Thursday.
