Goltz, 25, will step into the role after yet another injury to starter Buck Pierce, who suffered what the team is calling "an abdominal injury" in last week's loss to the Toronto Argonauts.
After Pierce's injury last week, Goltz played the entire second half of the game and completed 13 of 15 passes for 170 yards and was at the helm for Winnipeg's only touchdown of the game, a run by Chad Simpson late in the fourth quarter.
Goltz has also been used in short-yardage situations, running 11 times for 31 yards and two touchdowns.
The Bombers host the Calgary Stampeders on Friday at Investors Group Field.
Kickoff is at 7 p.m. CT.
