Canada's Ryan Cochrane wins bronze at swimming worlds

Victoria native Ryan Cochrane swam to a bronze medal finish in the men's 800 metre freestyle event at the FINA world swimming championships in Barcelona, Spain on Wednesday.

China's Sun Yang won his second gold of the worlds in a time of seven minutes, 41:36 seconds while American Michael McBroome (7:43:60) took the silver, just one-tenth of a second ahead of Cochrane.

Cochrane edged out another American swimmer, Connor Jaeger, by 0.56 seconds to hold onto his spot on the podium.
