Long weekend traffic jams BC Ferries terminals

People trying to get out of town early have made for a busy day at the main BC Ferries terminals on Friday.

As of 3 p.m. PT the Tsawwassen to Southern Gulf Islands route was booked out completely for the rest of the day, but there was still space on the Swartz Bay to Southern Gulf Islands route.

There was also a one-sailing wait from Tsawwassen to Swartz Bay, and a two-sailing wait in both directions between Tsawwassen and Duke Point.

There were no waits on departures out of Horseshoe Bay, but there was a one-sailing wait for those leaving Departure Bay.

At the U.S. border crossing there were 20 to 50 minute waits reported heading south as of 3 p.m. PT.

DriveBC was reporting that they are expecting heavy traffic and 30 minute delays on the Needles Ferry on Arrow Lake for the entire long weekend.
