Canada's Ryan Cochrane wins silver at swim worlds

Canada's Ryan Cochrance swam to a silver medal in the men's 1,500 metre race at the world swimming championships on Sunday in Barcelona, Spain.

Sun Yang of China captured gold in a time of 14 minutes, 41.15 seconds, while Italy's Gregorio Paltrinieri won bronze (14:45:.37). Cochrane finished 1.33 seconds behind Sun.

The 24-year-old Victoria native captured his third straight medal in the men's 800m race this past Wednesday.

The latest medal from Cochrane lifts Canada's medal total at the worlds to six, with two silver and four bronze.
