A Toronto man was charged with stunt driving in Wasaga Beach, Ont., this weekend after he was allegedly caught driving nearly 80 km/h over the speed limit.

The Ontario Provincial Police say they observed the man driving 128 km/h along River Road West in Wasaga Beach, at 6:45 p.m. on Saturday night.

The posted speed limit along that stretch of road is 50 km/h, police say.

Police say the 25-year-old man was subsequently stopped and "charged appropriately."

The man's motorcycle was seized by police. His driver's licence was suspended for seven days.

The accused is due to appear in a Wasaga Beach court next month.
