City wants Toronto residents to call in problem plants

The City of Toronto is calling on residents to let them know if they see any plants blocking the view of traffic lights or stop signs.

With all the rain that has fallen on Toronto this summer, the city has observed a greater amount of vegetation growth. That means there may be some places where plants are becoming a problem.

"This summer our trees and plants are seeing tremendous growth, so we may need to do some pruning to keep things safe for those travelling within the city," Coun. Paul Ainslie, the chair of the city's parks and environment committee said in a statement Wednesday

Residents are asked to call 311 if they have specific cases to report.
