Lulay, Elimimian, Congi and Giguere capture CFL weekly player honours

TORONTO - Quarterback Travis Lulay, who had three TD passes to lead the B.C. Lions to a 27-20 win over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, was named the CFL's offensive player of the week Wednesday.

Lulay finished 28-of-39 passing for 268 yards versus the Bombers. He's currently second overall in CFL passing with 1,468 yards and tied for second with 10 TD strikes.

Lions linebacker Solomon Elimimian captured defensive player honours. Elimimian, the Lions' leading tackler with 29, forced a fumble to set up a field goal, had a 17-yard interception return and three tackles.

Kicker Luca Congi of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, was named top special-teams player. He had three field goals and three converts in the Ticats' 30-29 win over Edmonton.

Hamilton receiver Sam Giguere was the outstanding Canadian had six catches for 90 yards against Edmonton. The native of Sherbrooke, Que., has 22 receptions for 309 yards this season.
