Manitoba Climber Dead After Fall From Mount Victoria Near Lake Louise

LAKE LOUISE, Alta. - A climber from Manitoba is dead after falling from Mount Victoria in Banff National Park.

Parks Canada says the 71-year-old man slipped and fell about 150 metres Wednesday morning, suffering fatal injuries.

The man and his partner were attempting to climb the south summit of the 3,464-metre-high mountain.

Parks Canada says his body has been recovered and his next of kin have been notified.

The man's name was not released.
