Downtown Toronto typically slows down in summertime, but this weekend parts of the city will come to a complete stop.

There will be no subway in the downtown core, and the Danforth and other major arteries will be closed for festivals.

The Yonge-University line's downtown loop will be closed from Bloor to St. George stations for Saturday and Sunday, with no subway service south of Bloor St. There will be shuttle buses on Yonge St. and University Ave., but expect delays, the TTC warns, especially around Toronto Blue Jays and Toronto FC games this Saturday.

Danforth Ave. will be closed from Broadview Ave. to Jones Ave. until Monday for the Taste of the Danforth. The annual food festival will also close off Danforth Ave. from Warden Ave. to Byng Ave., and Danforth Rd. will be closed from Landry Ave. to Danforth Ave all day Saturday.

Finch Ave. E. will be closed from Friday at 8 p.m. to Monday at 5 a.m. from Milliken Blvd. to Baylawn Dr. due to work on the railway crossing.

King St. and Spadina Ave. is closed for the month of August due to streetcar track upgrades.
