Highway 15 to shut down overnight for construction

Drivers are being warned to expect heavy traffic congestion north of Montreal over the weekend.

A collision on Highway 15 slowed traffic on Saturday morning and into the afternoon, and construction planned for Saturday night means drivers heading north of Montreal should be prepared for more delays.

Transports Québec spokesman Stéphane Boivin said the highway will be closing progressively starting at 9:30 p.m. tonight as crews work on the south part of an overpass on Cartier Boulevard in Laval.

Highway 15 will be closed down in both directions between highways 40 and 440 from 11 p.m. until 9 a.m.

The access ramps between Highway 15 north and Highway 40 will also be closed from 11 p.m. to 8 a.m. Sunday morning.
