Hello BC
QUALICUM BEACH, B.C. - The RCMP has recovered the body of a 17-year-old boy who fell into the waters of Little Qualicum Falls, a provincial park in Qualicum Beach, B.C.

The teen had been climbing with friends on a rock face near the falls on Friday afternoon, when he fell into the water and did not resurface.

Police say Little Qualicum Falls is a steeply sloped canyon area, with fast moving water, deep pools, and powerful cascading falls, and searchers found the boy's body submerged in 15 feet of water.

Since the currents were quite dangerous, an RCMP dive team was tasked with retrieving the boy's body on Friday night.

Police say foul play has been ruled out in this incident, and BC Coroners Service has now taken over the investigation.
