Man charged with attempted murder in nightclub shooting

Two Toronto men are facing multiple charges after an overnight shooting last week at Cobra nightclub in which a bouncer was shot three times, police say.

Police were dispatched to the scene on King Street West, near the King-Spadina intersection, just after 2 a.m. ET on Friday.

Police said that a dispute between a group of men took place inside the nightclub and during the incident multiple shots were fired, injuring the bouncer.

The bouncer, and a second man who suffered injuries to his head, were taken to a local hospital.

Mohamed Salim, 28, of Toronto, is facing eight charges including attempted murder, possession of an unauthorized firearm and breach of recognizance.

Abdiweli Abdi, 25, is charged with assault with a weapon and weapons dangerous.

Both men appeared in court on Friday.
