Roberto Luongo's Tires Stolen From Car In Florida (TWITTER)

Luongo Robbed

There will be no quick getaway for Roberto Luongo -- and not simply because the Canucks decided not to trade their goalie after telling him he was up for sale for more than a year.

No, the NHL star has been truly grounded since thieves apparently made off with the tires from his Mercedes. (Pause for inevitable reference to whose job it is to pump Luongo's tires.)

Luongo, who tweets under the username @strombone1, took to the social media site Tuesday to post a picture of his stripped vehicle band showed he hasn't lost his sense of humour.

"At least the robbers were nice enough to leave me the car..." he quipped, adding the hashtags #glasshalffull and #blessed.

The car is a Mercedes-Benz Gl-Class and, depending on the brand of tires and rims Luongo favoured, the thieves could have made off with close to $10,000 worth of merchandise, according to The Province.

The theft appears to have taken place in the driveway of Luongo's Florida home, CBS Sports reports, noting that if that is the case, it makes the heist more unsettling for the hockey player and his family.
