Firefighters were called to the second-floor unit of the nine-story building on St. Dennis Drive at around 2:45 a.m. Friday
The man had no vital signs when emergency crews arrived and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Fire officials say the blaze was confined to the bedroom. It appears the man died of smoke inhalation.
There was also a "fair number of combustibles" in the bedroom, fire officials told CBC News.
Officials have not released the man's name or said what may have caused the fire.
