Boy, 17, dead after overnight stabbing at Vancouver restaurant

VANCOUVER - A 17 year-old boy is dead following an stabbing at about 1 a.m.

Police say the teenager was rushed to hospital by paramedics with life-threatening injuries following the stabbing at a restaurant.

The unidentified teen was later pronounced dead in hospital.

Police say the stabbing occurred at the Japan House Restaurant (on Kingsway Avenue near Slocan Street).

The Vancouver Police Major Crime Section and Forensic Identification Unit have been called in and are working to determine a motive for the attack.
