NAIN, N.L. - An Inuit group in Labrador says it's expanding its legal challenge against the Muskrat Falls hydroelectric project.

The Nunatsiavut (noon-AT'-see-ah-voot) government says it has filed for a judicial review of a permit issued by the Newfoundland and Labrador government to begin work on a dam.

It's the second request for a judicial review filed by the Nunatsiavut this month.

Nunatsiavut president Sarah Leo says the terms of the permit fail to address her group's concerns with respect to its land, fish and wildlife.

They're also asking the Federal Court to revisit a decision by the Department of Fisheries and Oceans to grant permission to Nalcor Energy to construct the dam without proper consultation.

The NunatuKavut (noon-ah-TWO'-ha-voot) Community Council has also filed for a judicial review of the federal department's decision.
