Police investigate overnight homicide near Beaubien metro

The Beaubien metro station is closed as Montreal police investigate a homicide in Montreal's Rosemont-La Petite-Patrie borough.

Police Const. Danny Richer says a man in his 20s was stabbed overnight near the corner of Beaubien Street and de Chateaubriand Avenue.

According to police, the victim was stabbed in his upper body and rushed to the hospital just after 1 a.m., where he was pronounced dead.

“There is a large perimeter. Major crime units are on the scene trying to get more evidence and meeting with some witnesses,” Richer said.

This is the 17th homicide of the year in the Montreal police jurisdiction, three fewer than the same time last year.
