The Calling's Alex Band was viciously beaten yesterday morning in what is being described as a "violent abduction" in Lapeer, Michigan.

According to US Weekly -- and first reported by TMZ -- Band had performed at a music festival in the city when he decided to venture out from his hotel to a nearby convenience store around 4 a.m.

That's when two men driving a "blue colored minivan" picked up Band from the street, assaulted him and dumped his body at nearby train tracks. Members of The Calling noticed the singer missing and sent a search party who eventually found their friend.

On Monday afternoon, TMZ released the 911 call with the band's manager talking to a local dispatcher.

"They were kidnapped and jumped... the singer of the band that I tour manage. I don't know who kidnapped them."

When the dispatcher asked why the manager -- who was at the hospital with Band -- thought he was kidnapped, the band's manager said: "Because he's bleeding all over the place and I found him on the side of the road." The manager said Band, 32, was conscious and breathing but couldn't determine the extent of his injuries.

He was later sent to a nearby hospital's emergency room and treated for his injuries. Band was eventually released and claimed he was robbed. It's unclear however what exactly was taken.

Michigan television outlet WXYZ reported the group were in town for the Lapeer Days Festival and performed their set which started at 10:30 p.m. on Saturday at the main stage. The Lapeer County Sheriff's department confirmed Band was beaten up. A photo of the police report from the Lapeer City Police Department was later tweeted out and described the event as an "abduction/robbery."

The Calling nor Band made no comment regarding the incident on social media or official web sites. Fans flocked to The Calling's Facebook page to voice their concern and well wishes towards Band. The group recently announced their return with a reworked version of their 2001 hit "Wherever You Will Go."

"Thankful to be back on stage doing what I love!" Band tweeted on Aug. 16. "First show back as #TheCalling tonight at @BallysAC! Doors at 8 show at 10! #AtlanticCity."
