Kate Middleton, Prince William Setting Aside Kensington Palace Suite For Prince George's Grandparents?

Ready For The Grandparents?

Kate Middleton might not have to look too far for help with Prince George – the Duchess of Cambridge’s parents will have their own Kensington Palace "granny flat" available for when they visit, according to a report.

Will and Kate will set a suite aside for Michael and Carole Middleton that includes two bedrooms, a bathroom, a dining area and a sitting room, according to the Daily Mail.

“The guest area will allow Carole and Michael to be near Kate whenever possible,” the Daily Mail’s source said. “William is really pleased they will be close by – he is really behind the idea.”

However, a spokesperson for Will and Kate said that while there’s no “Middleton family annex,” Kate’s parents have “somewhere for them to stay when they visit.”

Kate Middleton's Most Memorable Royal Appearances

No matter what the living arrangements, Kate’s parents will likely stay close at hand, as they have throughout Kate’s first foray into parenting.

After Prince George's birth, Duchess Kate and Will escaped the public eye and stayed at the Middletons' home in Bucklebury. The first royal baby portrait, released last week, was taken by Kate’s father in the Middletons’ garden.

Carole, spotted shopping with Kate during her pregnancy, has also helped to decorate Will and Kate’s Kensington Palace pad in “neutral tones” and with “lovely textures and furnishings,” the Daily Mail’s source said.

The royal couple and their baby have yet to move into their 21-room Kensington Palace residence, as it is still undergoing renovations at a cost of £1 million.
