An unruly passenger forced the grounding of a flight to Istanbul at the Montreal Pierre Elliot Trudeau Airport on Sunday night.

Police said the 25-year-old man was making threats, but they would not go into detail.

Pilots decided to turn the plane around and return to Montreal shortly after takeoff at about 9:30 p.m.

The man was arrested at the airport and the rest of the 316 passengers were able to continue their flight a few hours later.
