Toronto police say a TTC fare collector was robbed at gunpoint overnight at Christie subway station.

The employee was not hurt and the male suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of money in the robbery, which police say happened at around midnight.

The suspect is described as about 25 years old, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants and a bandana.

Police do not believe the holdup is related to the shooting of a TTC employee at Dupont station in February 2012.
