Pedestrian struck by Burnaby bus


A woman has been taken to hospital with life threatening injuries after she was hit by a bus in Burnaby Thursday night.

Police say she was crossing Willingdon Avenue at Maywood Street just before 10 p.m. PT when the bus came around the corner and struck her.

Police say she was on marked crosswalk, but it was raining and she was wearing dark clothing.

The woman, in her mid-30s, was taken to Royal Columbian Hospital.

Police continue to investigate the incident.
