Cory Monteith: VIFF Screens One Of His Final Movies

Cory Monteith On Screen At VIFF

One of the final roles filmed by Cory Monteith before his death will be screening at VIFF this month.

"All The Wrong Reasons" stars the late actor as a regional manager of a department store going through marriage problems.

The movie's director, Gia Milani, spoke to CBC News in the days after Monteith's July 13 death from an overdose of heroin and alcohol in Vancouver.

"It was a pretty heavy role, very dramatic, very intense, quite a departure from [his "Glee" character] Finn," Milani said. "He was really excited to play it, partially because he could play his own age. He was really looking forward to showing another side of himself."

Producer Tony Whalen talked to E Online about the former "Glee" star's effect on the rest of the cast.

"He was an inspiration to a lot of our actors and a couple in particular that once they worked with him, they were inspired to keep going with acting because of what Cory talked to them about, " Whalen said. "Everybody that he met, he inspired."

"All The Wrong Reasons" screens at International Village on Sept. 27 and 28.
