Showery days ahead for B.C. South Coast

The low-pressure system responsible for showers and storms Wednesday and Thursday is slowly tracking inland bringing more moisture with it, says CBC meteorologist Johanna Wagstaffe.

The bulk of that moisture will be directed at the B.C. Interior over the next 48 hours. A special weather statement is in place for locally heavy rainfall accumulations of up to 50 mm by Friday afternoon.

Meanwhile, showers and the risk of more thunderstorms will spread across Metro Vancouver Thursday evening and through much of Friday.

The low-ressure system will take its time moving east, so Saturday may start off cloudy, but high pressure is building in its place, so the sun should be out starting Saturday afternoon into Sunday.
